摘要: Abstract The decomposition of Polyetheretherketone (PEEK) is carried out at 623 K within 30 min using a co-solvent system comprising ethanol and water. It has not previously been possible to carryout the PEEK below 703 K in aqueous media. Decomposition achieved catalytic quantities caesium carbonate (Cs 2 CO 3 ), as low 19 μmol ml −1 , high pressure bomb reactor. Carbon fibres are separated from PEEK/carbon fibre composite analysed by SEM-EDX. A reaction scheme proposed for process, producing phenol dibenzofuran major products. Phenol quantitatively means HPLC, identification products performed GC–MS. 7 K above its melt temperature Generally Recognised Safe (GRAS) solvents represents significant advance recycling end-of-life, contaminated deteriorated thermoplastic materials.
