摘要: Methods Hypertension (systolic BP 140 mmHg, diastolic 90 mmHg or current hypertensive medication use) was estimated based on self-reported use and the mean of second third three manual measurements. Income education were self-reported. Linear logistic regressions used to estimate multivariate associations between hypertension SES. Results prevalence 20% in men 28% women. In both women, income distributions non-linear, indicating elevated levels low as well high-income groups. contrast negative relationships typical for industrialized countries, multivariate-adjusted highest wealthiest with some high school education, positively associated BP, while there lesser education. Unlike poor limited Low SES also least likely receive diagnosis treatment. Conclusions Socioeconomic status is related Jamaica, although are non-linear. Behavioural environmental factors that explain among adults developing countries must be identified develop effective prevention strategies.
