摘要: Globalization has stimulated an increase in the movement of bodies across borders as poor migrate search work or safety, and rich travel globe tourists ever-larger numbers. This article explores how these global forces shape production consumption sex tourism two very different cities, Amsterdam Havana. By combining political-economic, feminist, postmodern theoretical perspectives with ethnographic methods data, we examine abstract find concrete expression within practice cities. We analyze four institutions that mediate between local sites: industry, labor markets, law policy. argue patterns each locale are increasingly over-determined by economic forces, connecting both cities broader phenomenon globalized tourism.
