摘要: Purpose: To investigate the useof silicone oil in thepatients who had undergone vitrectomy for treatment of endophthalmitis associated with retinal detachment. Methods: Six consecutive cases detachment were included study. The mean age 4 males and 2 females was 47.25 ± 23.76 years. Endophthalmitis occurred following perforating injuries eyes, pneumatic retinopexy 1 eye cataract surgery complicated vitreous loss eye. Preoperative visual acuity light perception-only all eyes. Red reflex absent All patients underwent tapping, encirclement, ,liquid-gasexchange, endolaser photocoagulation injection. Results: Mean follow-up time 14.3 7.20 months. microorganisms that isolated from aspiration Staphylococcus epidermidis 3 cases, aureus case. Remaining culture negative. Retinal breaks could be found Inflammation subsided significantly at 5 days cases. Final reattachment achieved eyes end . 20/40 case, counting finger no perception postoperative complications optic atrophy eye, epiretinal membrane phitisis bulbi eye. Conclusion: Silicone oil, a tamponading agent has antimicrobial activity, may have benefical effect surgical detachment.
