摘要: Abstract The incidence of esophageal adenocarcinoma and associated mortality has risen dramatically over the past several decades, and, thus, it is increasingly important to understand its pathogenesis risk factors. Barrett esophagus established precursor that progresses through a metaplasia–dysplasia-carcinoma sequence. Its transforming carcinoma not as high previously reported there appears be biological heterogeneity among patients with this disease. overall prevalence in United States ranges from 1% 25% closer 5% gastroesophageal reflux Because frequency implications, for practicing pathologist have thorough understanding disease diagnostic pitfalls. In review, we will discuss issues diagnosis esophagus, including definition distinction carditis intestinal metaplasia. We also challenges grading dysplasia new variants dysplasia, crypt foveolar-type dysplasia. Finally, touch upon evaluation endoscopic mucosal resection specimens.
