摘要: Aims: Microbial characterization of contaminants on Scientific Collections in a Specialized Library. Study Design: Selection and segregation books from special collections, followed by an investigation the fungal contamination through molecular biology. Place Duration Study: Museu de Astronomia e Ciencias Afins, located Rio Janeiro, Brazil, during seven months. Methodology: Several with clear their surface several air samples distinct locations library were included. Classical Original Research Article Annual & Review Biology, 4(24): 3915-3931, 2014 3916 microbiological identification, biology techniques chemical treatment after flooding cleaning surfaces performed. Results: Results indicated that mainly cosmopolitan species found environment selected books. Most presented potential cellulolytic action are toxin producers. Some unusual such as Periconia, Hypocrea Pestalotiopsis. Due to this occurrence concentrations higher than 200mg/L necessary decontaminate area flooding. Conclusion: The rapid staff solve problems associated scientific Museum Astronomy Related Sciences proved be essential minimize damage could occur rare collections. cooperative work involving Chemistry, Microbiology, Molecular Biology Preventive Conservation integrated practices among professionals areas ensure free public access documentation interest for society. multidisciplinary led important conclusions about presence fungi books, DNA resistance fungistatic compound.
