摘要: Abstract Recent studies with fibroblasts have shown that peptidylhydroxyproline formation begins toward the end of log phase growth and is an expression activity enzyme, collagen proline hydroxylase, which increase in late log-phase cells. This communication reports a two- to fivefold hydroxylase on incubating early cells lactate. The activation effect apparently specific for lactate and, although independent new protein synthesis, requires incubation intact its expression. Since concentration increases as they normally enter stationary phase, may play important role activator one collagen-forming enzymes.
