摘要: Publisher Summary The purpose of this chapter is to provide an approach the diagnosis and treatment pediatric osteoporosis. Osteoporosis defined in adults as low bone mineral mass deterioration micro architecture, with increased risk fragility (a traumatic) fractures. It preceded by a less severe condition named osteopenia (scarcity bone), simple reduction for gender age. most common metabolic disorder adults, remains major health problem worldwide. There increasing awareness that osteoporosis may also affect children adolescents, either because intrinsic skeletal defects (primary osteoporosis) or complication other diseases their (secondary osteoporosis). Various methods have been employed assess adolescents. Evaluation pain mobility, x-ray confirmation fractures are often first diagnostic step. Low detected densitometry, quantitative computed tomography, peripheral ultrasound and, special cases, histology/histomorphometry. assessment basic metabolism parameters, such serum/ urinary levels calcium, phosphate, vitamin D, parathyroid hormone, useful complement, while turnover markers can be conditions.
