摘要: Community-based prospective studies are needed to shed light on mechanisms that may influence development of eating disorders and identify variables could serve as potential targets for prevention efforts. In this paper we examine level weight preoccupation other prospectively associated with age onset disorder symptoms over a 3-year interval in community sample (N = 939) young adolescent girls. 3.6% (32/887) experienced the interval. Only one factor, measure Weight Concerns, was significantly (p < .001). Girls scoring highest quartile Concerns had shortest survival time (12% incidence by 14.5) those lowest (2% 14.5; p This finding is consistent both theoretical clinical perspectives represents first demonstrations linkage between body shape concerns later symptoms. An understanding independent predispose girls useful step towards establishment rational basis choice intervention target.
