摘要: Background: Although the tension free inguinal hernia repair with a mesh is standard technique in many developed countries, its use has remained low developing world due to the initial cost of mesh. The most commonly used method Mulago hospital modified Bassini. The main aim this study was compare short-term out come Desarda’s versus modified Bassini repair. Methods: One hundred and eight patients each unilateral, primary, reducible inguinal hernia were recruited through surgical department. Patients randomly assigned either or Modified Bassini Postoperative pain was assessed using visual analogue scale 1 2 hours after operation, on 3 rd post operative day (POD) again 7 th POD. gait assessed POD for all and again 14 those who had not attained their normal any postoperative wound complications Results: Of 108 recruited, 88 (81%) male 20(19%) female. were lost follow up an emergency laparotomy. mean resumption normal gait 3.62 both methods.
