摘要: Pennisetum species are widely used as ornamental grasses and may be a valuable genetic resource for their breeding to broaden its basis. At present, new cultivars primarily bred via somaclone, which increases the number of variants. It is difficult estimate whether suspected variants authentic in features by morphological traits because many limitations. Moreover, although phylogenetic classification genus has been approved some cytological studies, evidence lacking. In present study, we developed 15 specific simple sequence repeat (SSR) markers with large amount polymorphisms strong distinguishing abilities using magnetic bead enrichment. These markers, together other 11 reported polymorphic SSRs, were further identification broad collection 55 samples, including nine original taxa 46 After comparing characteristics between each variant corresponding taxon, verified 20 that possess potential become new, commercially desirable cultivars. The identified based on six core loci, unique molecular identities denary digits taxon established. rationality traditional system was 147 alleles. study promotes protection, registration, breeding, international communication grasses.
