The exotic introduced Italy by eastern cottontail (Sylvilagus floridanus), an invasive alien lagomorph to Europe for hunting purpose. Considering that S. floridanus shares same areas with rabbit, aim of this work document first report autochtonous lagomorph. METHODS O.cuniculi, isolated from one adult rabbit found dead, was identified considering morphological features and reproductive organs stage (length thickness body, spicules structure size). RESULTS present study represents record gastric nematode O. (Trichostrongilidae) population (Oryctolagus cuniculus) Italy. CONCLUSION Since Graphidium strigosum most infecting stomach, considers discusses different scenarios about helminth co-infection effect. Further studies should be carried out understand long-term effect introduction on wild population.
