摘要: This paper provides a preliminary evaluation of the suitability OSPAR Ecological Quality objectives for eutrophication coastal and offshore waters England Wales on basis ICES criteria. In principle, EcoQOs are easy to understand, but responses nutrient enrichment complex. Few studies provide unequivocal evidence links between inputs response. Monitoring is generally feasible in place, needs be improved. The best EcoQO winter concentrations. Chlorophyll concentrations good indicator environments susceptible enrichment. zoobenthos/fish kills potentially meets all criteria indicator; phytoplankton species, oxygen zoobenthos changes do not. Greater emphasis placed seasonal effects response, natural susceptibility different water bodies, differences environments, developing longer time series data.
