摘要: Abstract The presence of terminal α- d -galactosyl residues in the carbohydrate chains glycoprotein antigens from asexual blood stages Plasmodium falciparum is demonstrated by (1) -galactosidase sensitivity particular parasite antigens, (2) use specific glycosidases to cleave sugars glycoproteins radiolabeled with [3H]glucosamine, and (3) ability Bandeirea simplicifolia lectin, which has a specificity for α-galactosyl residues, bind parasite. side chains, are shown have an important role determining binding antibodies glycoproteins.
