摘要: We have tried to describe somatisation, not as a disease, but common and important human mechanism involving both doctor patient. It is the single most reason why psychiatric illness goes undetected in general medical settings, it often occurs conjunction with physical disease processes. The association dysphoric affect has been recognised at least since George Cheyne 250 years ago, for this that anxiety depression serve amplify pains. However, seems likely somatisation can occur absence of dysphoria. Once established, easy see how continues: secures advantages from spouse, family employers; tends be encouraged by doctors--who differentially reward somatic symptoms. But does first place? argued three functions: First, allows people who are unsympathetic psychological illness, or live cultures where mental stigmatised, nonetheless occupy sick-role while psychologically unwell. Second, blame-avoiding: instead being responsible mayhem, one cast role suffering victim. Finally, reducing blame, appears save patients depressed they might otherwise been.
