THE ROLE OF NA2S2O5 AND ACTIVATED CARBON ON THE SELECTIVE FLOTATION OF CHALCOPYRITE FROM A COPPER ORE USING A DITHIOPHOSPHINE-TYPE COLLECTOR

摘要: This article presents the results of an investigation into effects sodium meta bi-sulphite (Na2S2O5) and activated carbon on selective flotation chalcopyrite from pyrite. In Kure Copper Concentrator, a concentrate is produced with around 17.5% Cu content using lime as depressant. Flotation tests conducted in this employ Na2S2O5 regulating reagents reveal that grades up to 28% could easily be achieved. The deactivation mechanism S2O5 2− may similar SO3 such decomposition collector and/or oxidized surface species effective selectivity. Activated removes pulp, creating collectorless conditions. Conditioning time important parameter selectivity decreases dosage used.
