摘要: African cities are growing rapidly both demographically and physically. It is estimated by 2050 the population of will triple from 410 million in 2010 to 1.23 billion. The ensuing travel demand expected aggravate chaos transport systems for almost all major cities. This paper analyses emerging paradoxes BRT system Dar as Salaam city where provision an organized, affordable cost-effective public has been eagerly awaited residents. However, Rapid Transit (DART) system, recently established, astonishingly witnessed opposition some Findings reveal that underlying reasons this paradoxical situation include absence a current land use plan, ineffective control little adherence legal property compensation resettlement. Lack common understanding between government affected people, deters implementation Mass (MRT) city. A well organised inclusive framework stakeholders structured information dissemination pillars on which successful MRT can be built. Compensation payment at market price, cannot avoided development.
