摘要: The aim of this study was to highlight the underlying process responsible for age-related deficit in recollection. Through two experiments using Remember-Know-Guess procedure (Gardiner, J. M., & Richardson-Klavehn, A. [2000]. Remembering and knowing. In Oxford handbook memory (pp. 229-244). New York, NY: University Press) recognition, we manipulated opportunity update bindings between target items their encoding context, young older adults. first experiment impaired binding updating during items, while second supported process. results indicated that "Remember" responses younger group were specifically reduced by impairment (Exp. 1), suggesting ability is useful them encode a specific episode. Conversely, only improved accuracy supporting 2), weakness source failure improve memories. overall support hypothesis decline episodic partly due greater vulnerability interference on bindings, impairing content-context as when events occur.
