摘要: Abstract 1. Water loss in eight species of snakes was studied flowing-air desiccation system, and also by vivo determination triated water flux. 2. Rate proportional to surface area a series Elaphe climacophora . 3. Rates correlate with habitat aridity, varied hundredfold range. 4. Differences activity were more important than individual variation or changes air flow rate determining rate. 5. through the skin immersed water, measured tritiated flux, greater dry air, increased temperature ( Q 10 = 2·2).
