摘要: Serotonergic transmission is terminated by serotonin transporter (SERT)-mediated uptake following activation of receptors, several subtypes which are present in the medial nucleus solitary tract (mNTS) at area postrema level. In this region, (5HT) a major modulator baroreceptor reflex and also affects gastric motility. This derived from multiple sources including local neurons inputs raphe visceral vagal afferents. To determine relevant functional sites for mNTS, we examined electron microscopic localization SERTs using both immunoperoxidase immunogold labeling rat brain. addition, combined these methods dual 5HT2A receptors to detect whether SERT region was located near or distance G-protein coupled receptors. Intensive immunolabeling seen on plasma membranes axons morphologically heterogeneous axon terminals that formed symmetric asymmetric synapses dendrites without detectable immunoreactivity (IR). 5HT2A-IR was, however, other nearby neuronal glial profiles, some apposed intensively SERT-labeled containing lower intensity immunolabeling. somatodendritic co-expression receptor Golgi lamellae. Our results suggest mNTS 5HT activates SERT-mediated diverse cell types express SERTs.
