摘要: New noncoherent sequence detection algorithms for combined demodulation and decoding of coded linear modulations transmitted over additive white Gaussian noise channels, possibly affected by intersymbol interference, are presented. Optimal in the presence a random rotation signal phase, assumed to be constant during entire transmission, requires receiver complexity exponentially increasing with duration transmission. Based on proper approximations, simple suboptimal schemes based Viterbi algorithm presented, whose performance approaches that coherent detection. In companion paper Colavolpe Raheli (see ibid., vol.47, no.9, p.1303-7, 1999), is extended continuous phase modulations. proposed schemes, tradeoff between simply controlled parameter, referred as implicit memory, number states trellis diagram. Besides being realizable, these have convenient feature allowing us remove assumption encompass time-varying models. The compare favorably other solutions previously technical literature.
