摘要: The label 'post-truth' signals for many a troubling turn away from principles of enlightened government. word 'post', moreover, implies past when things were radically different and whose loss should be universally mourned. In this paper, we argue that framing is flawed because it ahistorical ignores the co-production knowledge norms in political contexts. Debates about public facts are necessarily debates social meanings, rooted realities subjectively experienced as all-encompassing complete, even they partial contingent. Facts used policy normative four ways: They embedded prior choices which experiential matter, produced through processes reflect institutionalized values, arbiters issues open to democratic contestation deliberation, vehicles polities imagine their collective futures. To restore truth its rightful place democracy, governments held accountable explaining who generated facts, response sets concerns, with what opportunities deliberation closure.
