摘要: Innate immunity is the first line of defence against pathogens and essential for survival infected host. The fruit fly Drosophila melanogaster an emerging model to study viral pathogenesis, yet antiviral responses remain poorly understood. Here, we describe heat shock response, a cellular mechanism that prevents proteotoxicity, as component immune response in Drosophila. Transcriptome analyses S2 cells adult flies revealed strong induction upon RNA virus infection. Dynamic patterns pathway components were characterized vitro vivo following infection with different classes viruses. transcription factor (Hsf), well active replication, necessary response. Hsf-deficient hypersensitive infection, indicating role defence. In accordance, transgenic activation prolonged time after enabled long-term control replication undetectable levels. Together, our results establish important constituent innate
