摘要: Contour lines from topographic maps are still the most common form of elevation data for Earth’s surface and in case historical landscapes, they often only available source information. In this paper we present a new contour interpolation method that solves bivariate problem by considering univariate curve along approximate gradient directions unknown surface. For point between two contours height value is computed with Hermite based on shortest distances to derivative information at contours. The surfaces generated C except terrain characteristics such as ridges valleys which reconstructed sharp features. also faithfully reconstructs summits, pits, saddles especially well-suited sparse sets approach allows an efficient numerical implementation demonstrate number examples.
