摘要: We have examined Faint Object Spectrograph data from the Hubble Space Telescope archive for C IV λλ1548, 1550 absorption associated with 40 Mg II λλ2796, 2803 absorption-selected galaxies at 0.4 ≤ z 1.4. report a strong correlation between kinematics, measured in ~6 km s-1 resolution HIRES/Keck spectra, and Wr(1548); this implies physical connection processes that produce "outlying velocity" clouds high-ionization galactic/halo gas. found no trend ionization condition Wr(1548)/Wr(2796) galaxy-QSO line-of-sight separation 13 systems confirmed galaxies, suggesting obvious gradient galactocentric distance these intermediate-redshift galaxies. find tentative evidence (2 σ) is anticorrelated galaxy B-K color; if further corroborate trend, view of IV-Mg kinematics correlation, it could imply stellar populations, star formation episodes, conditions halo gas ~ 1.
