摘要: The enhanced degradation of methyl orange in aqueous solution was achieved by means contact glow discharge electrolysis (CGDE) through adding a small amount Fe2+ to the solution. Methyl degraded and eventually decomposed into inorganic carbon when CGDE carried out under an applied DC voltage 480 V current 65–80 mA. oxidation process followed first-order kinetics; rate increased almost eight times presence Fe2+. A reaction pathway is proposed based on analysis ultraviolet (UV) spectra intermediate products from High Performance Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (HPLC-MS). addition hydroxyl radicals promoted catalyst key step enhancing whole process.
