摘要: Publisher Summary This chapter describes a continuous culture system that can generate biomass from hyperthermophiles on scale suitable for enzyme purification. Hightemperature chemostats have several advantages over large-scale batch systems. Long-term, stable, steady-state operation (arising minimal problems with contamination) provide generated exponential growth phase—that is, balanced growth. Because of the smaller operating volumes, systems are inexpensive to construct and minimize handling toxic explosive gas substrates products—for example, H 2 S, He, CH 4 . Small volumes also associated sulfide-producing anaerobes thermoacidophiles in terms choosing proper material reactor construction—for glass gold. Continuous cultivation has been useful studying bioenergetics physiology developing media formulations induce expression.
