摘要: Socioeconomic inequalities in diet-related health outcomes are well-recognised, but not fully explained by observational studies of consumption. We provide a novel analysis to identify purchasing patterns more precisely, based on data for take-home food and beverage purchases from 25,674 British households 2010. To examine socioeconomic differences (measured occupation), we conducted regression analyses the proportion energy purchased (a) each 43 or categories (b) major nutrients. Results showed numerous small category-level differences. Aggregation lower SES groups generally greater less healthy foods beverages than those higher (65% 60%, respectively), while healthier (28% vs. 24%). At nutrient-level, were marked, although was associated with proportions fibre, protein total sugars, smaller sodium. The observed pattern across contributes explanation between highlights targets interventions reduce inequalities.
