摘要: The thylakoid membrane is mainly composed of non-common lipids, so called galactolipids. Despite the importance these lipids for function photosynthetic reaction centers, molecular organization membranes largely unexplored. Here we use multiscale dynamics simulations to characterize both cyanobacteria and higher plants. We consider mixtures up five different galactolipids plus phosphatidylglycerol represent complex membranes. find that generally mix well, although nanoscale heterogeneities are observed especially in case plant membrane. fluidity cyanobacterial markedly reduced compared membrane, even considering elevated temperatures at which thermophilic found. also more readily undergoes a phase transformation an inverted hexagonal phase. furthermore characterized conformation cofactors plastoquinone plastoquinol, revealing fast flip-flop rates non-reduced form. Together, our results provide view on dynamical
