摘要: Abstract We synthesized and investigated the molecular ordering of 4-{( E )-[(4-alkoxy phenyl imino] methyl} phenyl] thiophene-3-carboxylate (APTC) oligomers varying alkoxy chain lengths using polarised Infrared spectroscopy (IR) wide-angle X-ray scattering (WAXS). polarisation study shows maximum dichroic ratio for Phenyl C stretching Decyloxy (PDPTC) at room temperature. During heating C–O–C higher in dodcecyloxy (PDDPTC) due to restrains torsional angle hindered rotation it. By temperature as perturbation, IR correlation (2D-IR) was performed. 2D-IR analysis results are classified into three parts. First, phase temperature, O splits two peaks dipole–dipole interaction; second, bending CH 2 alkyl variation with environment third, thiophene out plane vibration main flipping respect length. In addition that, an intriguing evidence liquid crystalline stability by dipole moment over is seen. region also “four-leaf clover pattern” on increasing length a change group C–H along it evidenced. Hetero between WAXS interlayer packing zigzag alignment lower homologues linear ‘d’ spacing value plotting
