摘要: Relative egg to adult viability was compared in three stocks of Drosophila melanogaster differing alcohol dehydrogenase (ADH) activity. Two these, Grell's standard ADHS and a mutant strain producing half the normal number ADH molecules, had same electrophoretic mobility. The experiment demonstrated correlation between survival alcohol-supplemented media enzyme This supports hypothesis that activity per se, rather than some other attribute allelic differences, may be responsible for previously observed selective advantage high alleles on media.
