摘要: Growing the two strains B. caldolyticus and caldotenax on several substrates has shown that fatty acid composition of both bacteria is not very significantly altered by carbon source. The pattern B.caldolyticus was, however, drastically varied if BHI-complex was omitted from medium, resulting mainly in an increase br.-even, str.-even, str.-odd, anteiso compounds, accompanied a sharp decrease br.-odd acids. Leucine, isoleucine, or valine were found to act as precursors for corresponding acids even with final concentrations low 0.05 mM, leading predominance either iso-odd, anteiso-odd, iso-even compounds. Simultaneously activity extracellular enzymes vary. Along n-even acids, iso-odd compounds result increased amounts leucine added growth decline.
