摘要: With the high cost of conventional protein required in producing meat and its products to meet demand by ever-increasing population, it is imperative that other cheaper alternatives be explored. One such source duckweed. This paper focuses on attributes duckweed has which make a special contender as for chickens. The also challenges associated with use this plant an ingredient chicken feeds. In addition, discussion researches have been conducted regarding using feeding chickens provided. Furthermore, manuscript highlights areas researchers need focus before can widely accepted feed or ingredient. Researchers seem agree growers finisher stage contribution from should not exceed 6%. More research, however, required, probably per specie, determine inclusion levels adopted starter diets chickens.   Key words: Animal resource, carcass quality, chickens, plant, growth performance, level.
