摘要: Publisher Summary This chapter discusses the current status of chemistry, biology, and clinical applications well-defined thymic hormones. The first biologically active polypeptide to be isolated from among highly acidic components bovine thymosin fraction 5 has been termed α1. peptide is in amplifying T-cell immunity modulating expression terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase. ultimate application thymosins other hormones factors cancer treatment should providing a means safely augmenting specific T lymphocyte functions patients with diminished thymic-dependent immunity. In anergic patients, may importance as an adjunct conventional treatments by increasing function response not only tumor cells but also pathogens, thus reducing high incidence infection that often accompanies treatment.
