摘要: SUMMARY: Coordination of Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) systems is a huge challenge for many technical projects such as Healthcare projects, Bio-tech in the area Advanced Technology. The use Building Information Modeling (BIM) or Virtual Design Construction (VDC) tools processes promises to address challenges MEP coordination process. This case study presents BIM / VDC on $96.9M healthcare project Northern California, USA. We discuss team members faced implementing coordination, specific quantitative qualitative benefits from that each member recognized lessons learned by systems. Some we include creation organization process using tools, guidelines most efficient conflict identification resolution between subcontractors, aligning contractual interests meet overall schedule. achieved labor savings ranging 20 30 % all 100% pre-fabrication plumbing contractor, only one recorded injury throughout installation over 250,000 square feet area, less than 0.2% rework whole mechanical subcontractor, zero conflicts field handful requests information contractors designers, 6 months’ schedule about $9M cost project. level type details need achieve
