摘要: Importance To date, there have been no reports in the current literature regarding use of Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) core competencies otolaryngology residency training. An evaluation may help educators address these training curriculum. Objectives examine quantity and nature through a systematic review to evaluate whether this aligns with 6 competencies. Evidence Review A medical librarian assisted search all indexed years PubMed, Embase, Resources Information Center (via EBSCOhost), Cochrane Library (Cochrane Database Systematic Reviews, Central Register Controlled Trials, Methodology Register), Thomson Reuters Web Science (Science Citation Index Expanded, Social Sciences Conference Proceedings Index–Science, Index–Social Humanities), Elsevier Scopus, ClinicalTrials.gov databases identify relevant English-language studies. Included studies contained original human data focused on resident education. Data study design, setting, ACGME addressed were extracted from each article. Initial searches performed May 20, 2015, updated October 4, 2016. Findings In 104 unique studies, interpersonal communication skills reported 15 times; knowledge, 48 patient care, 44 practice-based learning improvement, 31 professionalism, systems-based practices, 10 times.
