摘要: Hurthle cell carcinoma is an uncommon and occasionally aggressive differentiated thyroid cancer associated with increased mortality compared other malignancies. Because it generally has lower iodine avidity, 18F-FDG PET been suggested as a more accurate imaging modality. However, there limited information regard to the true diagnostic accuracy prognostic value of in this disease. Methods: All patients who underwent their first scan between May 1996 February 2003 were identified retrospectively. scans reviewed all available studies, including CT, ultrasound, radioiodine scintigraphy (RIS). Abnormal uptake was assessed visually by measuring maximum standardized (SUVmax) most intense lesion. Clinical follow-up for at least 1 y or until death required inclusion. Results: Forty-four met inclusion criteria. The median 2.9 y. There 24 positive 20 negative false-positive false-negative study, resulting sensitivity 95.8% specificity 95%. In 5 11 had both CT findings, revealed additional sites Furthermore, correctly classified 3 findings. 6 RIS, metastatic Ten RIS. Only patient SUVmax also provided information: stepwise fashion, each increase intensity unit 6% (P 10
