摘要: BACKGROUND A pericolonic tumor deposit (PTD) is a grossly palpated adenocarcinomas within adipose tissue not lymph node. The source and prognostic significance of PTDs has been well defined. METHODS The authors studied 418 T3N+M0 colon to determine the frequency PTDs. They also step-sectioned 30 their origin assist in optimum TNM classification. RESULTS Seventy-one (18%) 400 consecutively examined cases had actuarial 1-, 2-, 5-year disease free survival rates were significantly lower among patients with PTD. PTDs, regardless size, impacted survival. Increasing numbers was associated shorter Adenocarcinoma grade, PTD, increasing number node metastases independently likelihood extrahepatic abdominal failure proportionally greater observed perineural, peri-large vessel, or intravascular locations PTDs. CONCLUSIONS A PTD perivascular, extension beyond muscularis propria. are distinct from should be considered equivalent. impact even small significant, suggesting that all sizes single entity. classification as discontinuous probably accurate. greatest dimension reported separately metastases.
