摘要: A double quadrupole arrangement to remove polyatomic ions by collisions with an added target gas has been evaluated. The Ar2+, ArO+, and ArN+ were attenuated factors of 50-400 count rates \lesssim 100 counts s−1. Fifty seventy percent the analyte retained. Removal retention favored low-energy Xe or CH4 rather than typical gases like N2 Ar. Products ion-molecule reactions between background in first could be observed.
