摘要: We examine the strengthening mechanisms within a high-strength aluminum alloy with objective of providing guidelines for increased strength. First, we measure mechanical behavior age-hardenable Al–Cu–Mg–Ag known as Al 2139 in T8 condition, and observe strengths 500 MPa at quasistatic strain rates average up to 600 high rates. Next, explore reasons strength this by considering contributions various total material. Finally, develop an analytical approach estimating developed through mechanism dislocation cutting closely spaced plate-like semi-coherent precipitates. Our results suggest that $$\Omega$$ phase is primary alloy.
