摘要: We assessed the participation of local people in community-based natural resources management under the Communal Areas Management Programme for Indigenous Resources (CAMPFIRE) southern Zimbabwe. We focused on four randomly selected CAMPFIRE communities surrounding Gonarezhou National Park. Data were collected October 2013 through semi-structured questionnaires administered interviews. Our results showed that there were significantly more men than women committees. Surprisingly, we recorded no youths, those below age 25 years, part CAMPFIRE committee members across study area within range 25–60 years. therefore recommend that: (i) youths should be deliberately included committees focussing resources conservation, and (ii) conservation awareness education needs to streamlined enhanced improve attitudes both elderly toward initiatives. Key words: CAMPFIRE, resource management, Park, people, sustainable utilization
