摘要: This paper considers the ways 'hunter-gatherers' have been constructed in Australian archaeology, how these changed through time, and why a rather different approach has taken New Guinea archaeology. The underlying 'traditional' or paradigm archaeology is discussed, along with its critics, tensions played themselves out over years, to influence creation of 'prehistory'.
