摘要: Abstract The increased protein turnover that accompanies amino acid starvation was examined in isogenic auxotrophs of Escherichia coli K-12 which differ only the genetic locus responsible for control RNA synthesis under conditions starvation. multiple investigated were CP78 (stringent control) and CP79 (relaxed control). degradation occurs following stringent consists two processes. (a) A chloramphenicol-insensitive breakdown plays a large role early period due to presence pool labile proteins, (b) chloramphenicol-sensitive proteolysis causes bulk observed degradation. Under normal starvation, there is considerably less relaxed relative CP78. This decreased level appears result from deficiency proteolytic process. However, simultaneous both glucose acids, same extent CP79. Whereas withdrawal medium has no effect on CP78, it increases occurring These results are discussed terms pleiotropic nature exercised by locus.
