摘要: A workshop addressing strategies for the genotoxicity assessment of nanomaterials (NMs) was held on October 23, 2010 in Fort Worth Texas, USA. The organized by Environmental Mutagen Society and International Life Sciences Institute (ILSI) Health Institute. attended more than 80 participants from academia, regulatory agencies, industry North America, Europe Japan. plenary session featured summaries current status issues related to testing NMs genotoxic properties, as well an update international activities approaches. This followed breakout sessions a devoted independent discussions vitro assays, vivo need new assays or approaches develop strategy NMs. Each standard critiqued resource evaluation NMs, it became apparent that none appropriate without special considerations modifications. nanospecific positive controls questioned, utility bacterial assays. latter thought increase importance including mammalian cell gene mutation into test battery. For in-vivo testing, inform selection tests protocols, suggested run repeated dose studies first learn about disposition, potential accumulation, possible tissue damage. It acknowledged mechanisms may be at play battery not able capture. Environ. Mol. Mutagen. 54:229–239, 2013. © 2013 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
