摘要: Pinocytosis (drinking) by macrophages in tissue cultures is common (1). Complex fluids of culture media containing proteins and other substances which cannot diffuse into cells are engulfed the wavy ruffle pseudopodia. The fluid enters as globules move centrally digested. then disappears, presumably diffusion out cell. split products either utilized macrophage or pass fluid. Since macrophages, so abundantly scattered throughout body spaces, always have numerous ruffles similar to those seen cultures, it seems probable that they also pinocytose body. They only occasionally called upon clean up dead fibrin produced injuries, infections, etc., since all show pseudopodia, that, instead sitting around doing nothing most time, actively engaged drinking juices, digesting them, passing digestion back fluids. It scarcely conceivable this does not play an important role modifying keeping juices proper condition, perhaps supplying certain cells.
