摘要: Abstract Gastropod-borne nematodes (GBN) of veterinary concern are mainly represented by lungworms that may infect several mammalian host species. Although recognized as important throughout the world, these invertebrates have been little studied in South America. The aim this study was to provide epidemiological, morphological and molecular data on lungworm larva a species Protostrongylus from goats. In March 2019 for detection gastrointestinal goats conducted municipality Paranatama, state Pernambuco, northeaster Brazil. Faecal samples (n = 217) were analysed through modified Gordon Whitlock technique (data not shown), larvae detected using Baermann technique. sample size estimated based goat population area. Larvae 18.9 % (41/217) samples, presented mean length 339 μm (±52.99 μm) width 18 μm (±1.46 μm). Morphologically they similar sp. Sequencing 18 rRNA gene BLASTn search revealed strong identity (98.7 %) with homologous sequences rufescens available GenBank. Finally, provides new relevant P. Further studies nematode needed order elucidate biological aspects such seasonal dynamics infection intermediate hosts involved its life cycle.
