摘要: To address the loss of wetlands and riparian forests in California, private lands habitat programs are available through U.S. federal state government agencies to help growers, ranchers other landowners create enhance wildlife habitat. The provide financial technical assistance for implementing conservation practices. evaluate benefits these wildlife, we examined bird use wetlands, postharvest flooded croplands enrolled Central Valley North Coast regions California. We found that supported 181 species during breeding season. During fall migration, wetland-dependent a higher density shorebirds than did semipermanent wetlands. At sites, richness increased after restoration. These results demonstrated provided they were designed protect; variety resident migratory used habitats, many special status recorded at sites.
