摘要: A global definition of asthma control does not currently exist. The purpose this study was to validate two new guideline-based composite measures control, defined as totally controlled (TC) and well (WC) asthma. We used data from 3416 patients randomised treated in the multi-centre Gaining Optimal Asthma controL (GOAL) study. criteria comprising were based on Global Initiative for Asthma/National Institutes Health guidelines. This validation examined measurement properties using run-in, baseline, 12 52 weeks. Forced expiratory volume 1 second (FEV1) Quality Life Questionnaire (AQLQ) reference analysis. Both had good discriminative ability showing significant differences FEV1 AQLQ scores between classification both cross-sectionally longitudinally (p < 0.001). Overall accounted more variance after weeks than individual components each measure. independently related measure 0.0001). also predictive validity at by WC TC have psychometric are valid functional indices disease
