Characteristics and Outcomes of College-Age Adults Enrolled in Private Residential Treatment: Implications for Practice

摘要: Substance use among college-age adults is of interest due to high levels and low treatment access engagement relative other adults. Data collected from 1,972 clients in residential services were analyzed investigate differences patterns, outcomes, life area problems. Participants completed an Addiction Severity Index (ASI) the University Rhode Island Change Assessment (URICA) at baseline, ASI Treatment Services Review 1-month 6-month postdischarge interviews. Almost a quarter (24.1%) participants college age (18–25 years old). They more likely be White male, less complete although they had longer average length stay. College-age improved on all outcome measures, posttreatment service shows significant difference between older participants. Implications for practice are discussed.
