摘要: Background. The presence of circulating antiphospholipid antibodies (aPLs) is frequently associated with thromboembolic phenomena. Objective. To investigate the prevalence aPLs, detected as lupus anticoagulant (LA) or anticardiolipin antibody (aCL), in a group unselected children idiopathic cerebral ischemia. Design. Prospective, case series. Setting. A pediatric neurology department. Patients. Thirteen ischemia (eight stroke, three transient ischemic attacks, and two ocular ischemia). Age-matched apparently healthy served controls. Measurements. LA aCL determination was performed within 3 days after occurrence event repeated to 6 months. be defined aPL-positive, patients had have either positive test IgG and/or IgM at moderate/high level both determinations. Main results. Ten (76%) 13 were for aCL. No differences found between aPL-positive aPL-negative respect clinical manifestations radiological features. Six (46%) history multiple events. Conclusions. Our results show very high aPLs Because these has relevant therapeutic implications, their recommended.
